Solid + Void

This new-construction commercial project is designed to infill dynamic office and retail space into a block that has transitioned from single-family residential use to a vibrant local business district.  The massing at street level matches front yard setbacks established by the adjacent structures and then protects its public patio and entries with a cantilever above.  A nod to the traditional porch, the building front is both threshold and place-meant to complement and engage a very active and walkable community.
