This new residence is situated on a deep lot that slopes down at the rear to capture spectacular views of the Deer Mountain Resort and Jordanelle Reservoir. The floor plan is a split level concept to minimize site excavation and foundations. After the main entrance and dual garages on grade, two guest bedroom suites and a family room are located on the level just below. Upper levels include open plan living areas and a master bedroom suite with office. Short flights of stairs and a residential elevator connect all levels. At the clients’ request, special attention was given to make all primary living spaces accessible for wheelchairs. While not a present concern for the owners, the architects agreed that some thoughtful planning could be beneficial for them or any future occupant. The exterior massing and material palette reflect the prevailing mountain aesthetic and homeowner association guidelines.
